Stone Meaning:

The age of fossil coral dates back several million years. It is usually found in very deep mines, the same depths that, evidently, were once dark sea depths. In its natural state it is completely fossilized, of an uncertain color, whitish, grayish tending even to blue. Cutting and grinding can enhance the natural beauty of this material. Over the millennia, infinitesimal particles of silicon have managed to penetrate the spores of coral, the real one, already dead. There is a long tradition related to the use of fossil coral in traditional medicine, from the Chinese to the Egyptians, to the Arabs, there is news of the use of coral for the treatment of various diseases. Fossil coral, found for example in the waters of the Japanese island of Okinawa, contributes to the extraordinary health, vitality and longevity of the residents.
